Toleda Hart

My name is Toleda Hart, and I’m running for mayor to secure a brighter future for Glenwood.

With over two decades of leadership experience in public service, I’ve dedicated my career to making a difference. My roles at the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services and the Illinois Department of Corrections—where I currently serve as District 1 Facility Board Inquiry Oversight Administrator prepared me with the knowledge and experience to tackle complex challenges with integrity, fairness, and empathy.

As President and CEO of MYSI, Inc. (formerly Methodist Youth Services, Inc.), I strengthened community engagement and upheld financial accountability, ensuring the well-being of those we served. My elected positions as Glenwood Treasurer, Trustee, and President of the Brookwood School District 167 Board allowed me to further contribute to our community.

My academic achievements, including a Senior Executive Certificate in State and Local Government from the Harvard Kennedy School, has equipped me to be your next mayor. My husband, William and I have lived in Glenwood for 24 years. I have developed a deep connection to the Glenwood community and a clear understanding of its needs.

Community service is the foundation of my life. I proudly served as a Girl Scout troop leader in Glenwood for six years, inspiring future leaders. My contributions to the community were also recognized by the Brookwood Point Homeowner Association, which honored me with a community award.

Throughout my career, I’ve honed the skills of listening, mediating, and advocating for fair solutions—skills essential for effective leadership. I am driven by a deep passion for this work. My unwavering commitment to education, civic responsibility, and fiscal stability fuels my determination to lead Glenwood into a prosperous future. I am prepared and would be honored to serve as your next mayor.
